About

My little story:

Originally from Montreal, I am now settled in the Paris region, alongside my husband, two children, and two little rabbits. We live on a houseboat that also houses my workshop.

Heavily influenced by the artistic world, nurtured by the creative universe of my artisan parents, my studies in visual arts, photography, and animation, as well as my professional work in 2D animation, my journey led me to establish DezDesigns.

After a stimulating and rewarding career as a Swing dancer and teacher, I wanted to bring this artisanal business to life.

My creations are influenced by my diverse background. Each one of my pieces receives my full attention to quality and detail. My goal is to bring a touch of happiness to your daily life through personalized pieces.

My Rug Making Process

Here’s a little step by step description of my rug making process.
A long but very satisfying process.

The design

It’s starts off with an idea and a quick sketch. I then make a computer version of my design. Using a projector, I draw the design on my tufting cloth.

The tufting

Next comes choosing the yarn for the project and starting the tufting.
Once the tufting is complete, I apply high quality rug glue to the back to secure the yarn.

The finishings

Last step is shaving the rugs for a nice even cut, cleaning up the lines with scisors and shears, glueing on a felt back and adding a hook for the wall hangings.
